Lars Liepold defends dissertation

Lars Liepold, a graduate student in the Douglas Lab, successfully defended his dissertation entitled "Exploring the Potential of Protein Cages as MRI Contrast Agents with an Emphasis on Protein Cage Characterization by Mass Spectrometry Techniques" on 15 Sep. 2009.  Congratulations to Dr. Liepold!

 

Craig Jolley to attend astrobiology summer school

Craig Jolley, a postdoctoral researcher at Montana State University, has earned admission to a prestigious summer field institute in Reykjavik, Iceland. The school is sponsored by NASA's Astrobiology Institute and the Nordic Network of Astrobiology Graduate Schools. The three-week program, called "Water, Ice and the Origin of Life in the Universe," aims to give participants a thorough understanding of the role of water in the evolution of life in the cosmos.

Janice Lucon receives NSF fellowship

A Montana State University graduate student whose research has the potential to make a difference in how light is harvested for alternative energy applications has won a $90,000 fellowship from the National Science Foundation.

Janice Lucon, 25, will receive an NSF annual stipend for three years to fund her research at MSU. She won the Graduate Research Fellowship based on her abilities, accomplishments, and potential to contribute to strengthening the vitality of science and engineering in the U.S., according to the NSF.
