I am studying the immunological response to protein cage nanoparticle (PCN) with the Harmsen group at MSU. We have observed the formation of induced bronchial associated lymphoid tissue (iBALT) in mice following treatment with various PCN. iBALT is associated with enhanced protection against multiple respiratory viruses. I am currently engineering PCN to modulate their efficacy in the production of iBALT.
